Q. I know how to change the defaults so that items that are saved on my computer open in Adobe Reader vs Photoshop. I also know how to right click and openwith reader over an another adobe program. However, when trying to open some items in links/hyperlinks that are PDFs, my computer still opens them in photoshop. The default setting on my computer for PDFs, listed in the folder options, is set to open in Adobe Reader.
A. Right click on the PDF and choose Open With. Select Adobe Reader and check the box to always use this application, then press ok.
How do I make typography animations using adobe after effects CS3?
Q. I just got Adobe After Effects CS3. And I want to know exactly how I make those typography animations.
All I need is a tutorial of some sort, whether it be a video or typed out into a very large and descriptive tutorial.

A. There's many ways you can do it, but from the sounds of it you may be looking for a tutorial on how to use the Per Character 3D
Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about.

There's a ton of presets you can check out for some examples. If you want to look through the gallery of preset AE text animations you can open Bridge and navigate to the folder with all the text presets. The path will be something like...C:\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS3\Support Files\Presets\Text.
These can work for some things and you can modify a preset to make it your own, but most graphic designers will stay away from them and make more customized animations.
Anyways, look around for a tutorial for Per Character 3D or try to figure it out by looking at the existing presets...it's probably a good place to start for someone who's new with After Effects.

What is the application needed when installing adobe flash player?
Q. I am installing the adobe flash play and the download is finished but when I open,it says that the link needs to be opened with an application. What is the application?
A. The application is Adobe Flash Player. Try closing the browser you are using and run the Adobe Flash Player again. You will need to re-activatate the browser for it to take effect. And that goes for each browser too.
