How do I make a word created in Adobe illustrator look like its embossed?

Q. I am just getting into Illustrator and am trying to create a logo using a word. I have outlined the text so its got its handles to change the shapes around.

A. It's simple! You can do this easily:

Activate your box, go to the top menuâ Effects, slide down to 3D under Illustrator Effects, and a slide out box will appear that says Extrude and Bevel.

There are all kinds of other effects for you to experiment within this same menu, as well as trying things under the filter menu. The fun in being a graphic designer is being able to experiment with various things to see what we can create.

So try new things, and if you do not like it, just remember to press "command z" (Macintosh) (control z Windows) to return to the state just before making that change.

What laptop is good for this Adobe Creative 6 Master Collection AND playing WOrld of warcraft?

Q. I want to get a laptop for xmas where I can put on Adobe Creative 6 master Collection, but also play world of warcraft recreationally.

I don't like macs.
that it's not slow and everything works properly. From photoshop to After Effects.
No , macs are horrible, the ones at my university (yes all of them) fail and crash and I've never had a problem with a pc.

A. Macs are horrible, gateway (if it still exists) is bad, and dells are too. Use Toshiba, Acer, Asus, or HP. (There are others that are out there that are good, but these are what I could think of.)

Q. I need your help getting this done. Please help. Needs to be in ActionScript3 and the data is updated throughout the application. It's a game where the sprite eats and gets fat depending on what it eats, but this data is within this graph.

Is it possible to insert a picture I created in Adobe Illustrator to any Microsoft office applications?

Q. I know it's probably impossible to do that...

Because I want to print my drawings in a local library and the library doesn't have Adobe Illustrator. Their computers only have Microsoft office app. and Adobe Reader etc.
So what can I do?

I tried to upload the drawings on some site(like flickr) but it didn't work!

Anyone can help? Any suggestion?

A. yeah, but you wuld have to go, File...Save as other...JIF/whatever... then open or drag that file to whatever.

How to create a clipping mask on a scanned image in Adobe Illustrator?

Q. I have a scanned image that I am trying to utilize in creating a logo. I need to cut the image from its background, and I have read that the best way to do this is with a clipping mask. When I try this utilizing the pen tool, it says that the clipping mask cannot be used because more than one object must be selected??? Help!

A. Just got though designing a Valentine's Day card for my wife.

The "path" you make with the pen tool is one object. The drawing behind it is another. After you draw the path, use the select tool to select BOTH the path and the drawing. THEN make the mask.

Remember that even after the mask is made, they are STILL two separate objects. If you intend to move the image around, GROUP the two objects so that they move as one.

What is adobe dreamweaver CS 4 and how much programming knowledge is necessary?

I am new adobe dreamwaver cs4. Can someone give me a basic idea what is it, and what this software is use for?
Also please mention, how much web programming knowledge is necessary to use this software? I know very little web programming so far. I have heard visual web programming can be done using this software, does it mean little web programming knowledge?

A. Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 is a web authoring program. It's used to create / build websites. You can work from the "design view" which will basically allow you to drag & drop items to your site or page. Or you can work from the "code view" which will require you to have some knowledge of html and whatever scripting language you choose. If you have never used this program before (or one like it) the learning curve is pretty high. However, we all have to start somewhere. There is a company called Total Training which sells tutorial DVD's for all of Adobe's products. Contact me if I can be of further assistance.
